The stereotype threat I am facing is that girls are not good at math. I was excellent in math before I entered into university. However, I had hard time to understand Calculus. It took me two years to have some idea what Calculus is about.
Even though I am much more interested in front-end development, I am still concern that lack in Math will be a barrier to be a good developer.
Recently, I opened Khan Academy, I found out that I actually don't know how to do any precalculus questions. It's horrible experience. I want to refresh my calculus knowledge via taking online courses and also finish Stanford's CS 106A and Algorithm class before I get into the job market, which will be April, 2015.
I guess, the best way to overcome stereotyp threat is working harder and harder. That's the only solution I know.
